Can I do my own catering? Yes, you are able to provide your own catering. You will need to be self-sufficient; there is no access to our kitchen or equipment. Part of our host responsibility plan requires you to provide ample catering. Please be advised if we feel you haven’t served a reasonable amount you may be required to purchase additional food through us (or order in extra, like pizzas). When you provide your own catering the minimum bar tab increases. Function room - $500 Lounge bar - $1,500
Can I bring in snacks?
Yes, you are welcome to bring in: chippies, dips, crackers and cheese, etc. You will need to provide your own serving platters or bowls.
Can I bring in a cake and or dessert? Yes, you are welcome to bring in a cake and or dessert. People often have a dessert or lolly table. You will need to bring serviettes or disposable plates or bowls to serve.
Can I subsidise drinks on my bar tab? Definitely, we advise this to make your bar tab go further. We have a range of: tap beers, wines and RTD’s starting from $9.50. Most people opt to put $3 or $4 per drink on the tab and the guest pays the difference. Standard soft drinks are usually free to guests by putting straight on the tab.
Do you have tea and coffee? If you wish to offer tea and coffee, we can provide an urn of boiling water and limited coffee cups. If you anticipate large numbers you will need to supply disposable cups or hire additional cups. You will also need to supply: tea, coffee, milk and sugar, etc.
What time can I come in to decorate? Your booking gives you the associated function room for the whole day and night. The room will be available to you from 11 am. You are not able to set up the day before.
Can I use your house speakers? Yes, you are welcome to use our inhouse entertainment system, which includes speakers. Both bars can connect via aux; we can provide adaptors for most phones or laptops. The Lounge bar system can be connected via Bluetooth if you have Spotify, this is recommended to guarantee the highest quality and ease of use. We may have our laptop and Spotify account available for use, please check.
- You are welcome to hire a DJ or Band in the lounge bar only. However, there are noise regulations please check before you book.
Can I hire a microphone? A free wired microphone is available for the lounge bar only. With a lengthy cord, this allows you to move around on the stage or immediate area.
Can I use your projector screen for a slide show? Yes, you are welcome to use the big screen for a slide show. Be aware it has a VGA connection not HDMI. We do provide an apple and an android adaptor, however not all laptops are compatible.
How does the courtesy van work? The courtesy van runs throughout the night as requested and staff are available. The last run leaves at 1.30am. This is a drop off service only, for a gold coin donation. The van only runs within the 50km/per hour speed limit area. We do not offer this service outside of Palmerston North, ie: Feilding, Bunny Thorpe or Ashurst.
